There’s a fun, easy way for kids to search for books, movies, magazines and more at your library. It’s called Kids Catalog! Got questions? Here are your answers!
How do I access the Kids Catalog?

How is the Kids Catalog different from the other library catalog?
There are two major differences:
- You can use the Kids Catalog to search for specific titles and authors written just for kids.
- You can use picture icons to browse popular subjects. If you’re a kid crazy about bulldozers and backhoes, click on the “Moving and Building” picture then the “Construction Equipment” picture to get a list of great books and movies about construction vehicles.
Are there any other special features I should know about?
Yes! There is a very helpful link about award-winning books. It lists the Newbery, Caldecott, and Coretta Scott King Award winners as well as the Alabama Author Awards. And when you click on the book cover, it lets you know if that book is on the shelf at your library.
What should I do now that I know about this great new service from JCLC?
Put it to good use! Play around with the picture icon searches. Give the title search a whirl. Try to find all of the flags.
