  Speakers BureauSEARCHING FOR A SPEAKER?
PUBLIC LIBRARIES SPEAK OUT!
By Debbie Fout, Homewood Library
Do you know what is free and could change someone’s life?
The Public Libraries of Jefferson County.

Do you know how many public libraries are located in Jefferson County?
41... and your library card can be used at all of them!

Do you know why only 47% of Jefferson County residents have library cards?
They are not aware of the broad range of services offered by their local public libraries.

Do you know what you can do to get the word out?
Contact the newly formed Speakers Bureau to speak to your group!

The Advocacy Committee of the Jefferson County Public Library Association has developed a Speakers Bureau to spread the word about the services provided by the member libraries of the Jefferson County Library Cooperative. Through the use of a PowerPoint presentation, our trained presenters can provide groups with an informational and stimulating presentation customized to fit any meeting format.

Knowledgeable library personnel are available to speak in all areas of Jefferson County. Our presenters will speak to local civic groups, business groups, culture clubs, schools, PTA’s, Chambers of Commerce and citizen’s groups. Speakers Bureau representatives will bring handouts to your meeting and be available to answer specific questions during the presentation.

How far in advance should I book a speaker? Call us three weeks in advance to schedule a speaker.

How much does this cost? It’s free to the public.

How can you contact us? You may phone, fax or email us. Book our program for your next meeting by calling (205) 226-3615 or e-mail cynthiab@bham.lib.al.us.
