Hints for Searching by Author
If you want to find a book or books by a particular author, click Author at the
Library Catalog, and the Author
Search Screen will appear. Type the last name of the author, followed by a space or a
comma, then type the first name. A list of authors matching or closely matching your entry
will appear on the screen.
Helpful Hints
- If you do not know the full name of the author, you may type in the last name only.
- Use the backspace key to erase typographical errors.
- You may type in the name of government bodies or other organizations. The names of
organizations must be typed in direct order (see examples below).
- You may type the name in upper- or lower-case letters.
- If you know both the author and the title, you might be able to find the book more
quickly using an Author/Title search.
