The Big Read 2008 To Kill a Mockingbird What if everyone in Jefferson County read the same book? Everyone is invited to participate in The Big Read, Jefferson County, Alabama's One County - One Book program by reading To Kill a Mockingbird, by joining in a book group discussion, and by attending the programs.   Coming April 2008 The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest.
