November 2 - National Hospice and Palliative Care Awareness Month
Laura Moore joins us from Hope Hospice to discuss the volunteer
opportunities for each of us to become a catalyst of care for others
during a special time of life.
November 9 - Come Dance with Me!
Put on your dancing shoes, we’re going to have a ball. Jackie Tally,
former president of the Birmingham Ballroom Association, will teach us
some familiar of the basic dances.
November 16 - Veteran’s History Project
Memories are being collected from veterans of all wars and support
personnel as well. Learn how to you can contribute to the Library of
Congress’ Veteran’s History Project.

The Seasoned Readers present Life is Fine, a dramatic reading of
uplifting poems that celebrate life and the seasons. Join us for a
performance that's sure to put you in the holiday spirit!
December 7 - Music of the Season with Dr. Anthony Pattin
Dr. Anthony Pattin’s piano artistry will be featured in the music of
the season along with a guest vocalist to enhance your holiday spirit.
December 14 - A Christmas Memory
Birmingham storyteller and actress Dolores Hydock presents A
Christmas Memory. Truman Capote’s poignant reminiscence of his boyhood
in rural Alabama is brought to vivid life in this performance.
January 11 - Investing for the New Year
It’s a New Year and time to look at your investment plans. Richard
Crew, Vice-President and Senior Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch,
will discuss strategies for investing in these uncertain times.
January 18 - City Planning and Civil Rights in Birmingham,
1920 to 1980
In 1963, Martin Luther King, Jr. called Birmingham "the most
segregated city in America." Why did Birmingham, so unlike other Southern
cities in many ways, become the ultimate symbol of Southern racial
intolerance? Join us as Florida State University historian Charles
Connerly explores this dramatic and tragic history.
