Most people are not aware that there is a Library at the Birmingham
Botanical Gardens (BBG), but we are members of the Jefferson County
Library Cooperative. You can request books from us, check out and return
books here just as you do at any of the other 39 library locations in
Jefferson County. The BBG Library is the South’s largest horticultural
lending library and a star in Birmingham’s crown. Regardless of your
gardening experience, we have something for you. We have over 6200
circulating books, 550 reference books, more than 60 different gardening
magazines for adults and over 500 children’s books and videos. There is
something new at the Gardens Library every day. If you have not visited
our Library check us out online and browse our book reviews for adults and
children. You can also search the catalog for something that sparks your
interest. Flowers bloom, people blossom, come blossom at the Gardens
