Women Great of
Heart
Nov. 10-11, 8 p.m.
The newly-completed work celebrates the lives of two
remarkable, but largely unknown, Alabama women: Pattie Ruffner Jacobs and
Hallie Farmer. Each, through her political activity, helped change the
course of Alabama history. Tickets $15.
Holiday Cabaret
Dec. 7-9, 8 p.m.
Jack Mann, Boots Carroll and Jim Aycock star. Laughter reigns
supreme as members of Wit’s Other End take to our stage, poking fun
at any and everything. Also on tap: the melodious barbershop harmonies of
“Loose Change.” Tickets $15.
Cherish the Ladies-In Concert
Dec. 17, Su, 7 p.m.
This internationally acclaimed group has performed at
Carnegie Hall and throughout Europe, captivating audiences everywhere with
their unique mix of traditional Irish music, world class step dancing and
irrepressible humor. Tickets $20.
Rollin’ in the Hay
Jan. 5, F, 8 p.m.
This talented, high-energy trio brings a mix of old standards
and new renegade bluegrass favorites to the stage. Tickets $10.

Aspiration: Birminghams Historic Houses of Worship
These 64 stunning photographs in both black and white
and color celebrate the rich beauty of Birminghams scared places. An
opening reception will be held in the Boardroom of the Library on November
12 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. This event is open to the public – no fee or
registration. The book with the same title, Aspiration: Birmingham's
Historic Houses of Worship, is a blending of works from a noted
architectural historian and photographs by an internationally recognized
photographer. They will be available for purchase at the reception and
afterwards at the Central library. The exhibit and book are a product of
the Birmingham Historical Society. The exhibit can be seen during regular
library hours: Monday & Tuesday, 9:00 PM - 8:00 PM; Wednesday -
Saturday, 9:00 PM - 6:00 PM, and Sundays, 2:00 -6:00 PM. For more

Alabama Art Quilters
Works by ten fabulous Alabama Art Quilters Reception
will be held on January 18th from 6-8 p.m. in the Gallery of the
Birmingham Public Library. Open to the public.

During regular library hours, A Montgomery native,
George Taylor earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from UAB in 1989. He is a
self-taught artist who has won many awards for his work.

Enigma Variations by Robert Bruce, Jan. 2 - Jan. 31
During regular library hours. Tennessee artist Robert
Bruce is a former resident of Homewood. He says he did miserably in
high school art,
but went on to receive a degree in Art from UNA. He
has exhibited in Seaside, Florida, Nashville, Tennessee, and locally at
several galleries.
